Aspen
Remembering Aspen
June 9, 2012- August 22, 2026
Aspen was a sweet girl and one of a long line of Mize Family yellow labs—beloved by three generations of Mizes. She was also lucky enough to live close to her littermate and sister, McKinney who was with another Mize family. That connection made for some extra special playtimes, and hopefully they are enjoying a wonderful reunion on the other side of that Rainbow Bridge.
Surrounded by a large, loving family of humans and pups, Aspen was a loyal friend and teacher. She was patient with the little ones wanting to love her, she was enthusiastic to run with the other dogs, and she was always a good guest at someone else’s home or space.
Smart and playful, Aspen loved the trails and shorelines in Lake Tahoe in any season, enjoyed poolside, backyard time in Marinwood for family gatherings, sun bathing, or watching the cousins swim—never minding the splashing or noisy, excited voices.
Ever the lab, Aspen was a great retriever and always ready for a treat. She had a sense of fun—always ready to play with a new toy or leash up for an adventure. She will be remembered for her sweet disposition, her loyalty, her good looks, for being a great big sister to Lucky, and for being a beloved companion to her mom, Patty.
